A Geordie In The Himalayas

McLeod’s word

Surrender, the word of McLeod Ganj

Surrender, the word of McLeod Ganj

Back in October, I talked about finding my word, and also finding a word for Delhi (inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert). This has inspired me to try and find a word for every place that I visit.
Based on my personal  experiences and the experiences that are totally out of one’s control (the demonetisation that occurred at the beginning of November springs quickly to mind), McLeod’s word became obvious.
TRIPPING OVER JOY
What is the difference
Between your experience of Existence
And that of a saint?
The saint knows
That the spiritual path
Is a sublime chess game with God
And that the Beloved
Has just made such a Fantastic Move
That the saint is now continually
Tripping over Joy
And bursting out in Laughter
And saying, “I Surrender!”
Whereas, my dear,
I am afraid you still think
You have a thousand serious moves.
